The chef’s colleagues in Rihga Royal Hotel wrote heartfelt messages for his restaurant.

Chez Grand Pѐre is an European dining restaurant, which the owner chef, Mr. Yutaka Kawanaka, has opened in 2008 in Katano after his retirement from RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL. There, you can have authentic French cuisine in homelike atmosphere since Mr. Kawanaka would like the customers to casually enjoy it.

 

CIMG6752Mr. Kawanaka says that his style of cooking is ‘mariage cooking’. The term ‘mariage’ is ‘marriage’ in English and means that he combines French cooking with various types of cuisines such as Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and so forth. He always uses seasonal ingredients and offers brilliant menus to the customers. He says that ‘I created a new noodle and a rice porridge using Gambo soup, which I learnt in a training programme in the United States. I believe that cooking is no border and would like to serve ‘Japanese-French’ cuisine to as much customer as possible.’
