But, from July 9th 2012, they are supposed to be registered at the Basic Resident Registration (<em>Jumin Kihon Daicho<\/em>), and, if necessary,\u00a0they can obtain a residential certificate (<em>Jumin Hyo<\/em>) as well as Japanese residents.<\/p>\n<p>If foreigners move within Japan&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Move within the same city :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They need to\u00a0turn in a notification of changing address (<em>Jyusho Henko Todoke<\/em>) to a town hall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Move to a different city :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They need to\u00a0turn in a notification of moving out (<em>Tenshutsu\u00a0Todoke<\/em>) to\u00a0your town hall, and a notification of moving in (<em>Tennyu Todoke<\/em>) to\u00a0your new\u00a0town hall.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0the new Basic Resident Registration, <em>Zairyu<\/em> Cards\u00a0are\u00a0issued to foreigners who intend to stay at Japan for more than 3 months. Foreigners\u00a0with temporary visitor status, with diplomat, or official status are excluded.\u00a0Persons who have Alien Registration Cards (<em>Gaikokujin Toroku Sho<\/em>) do not have to change to <em>Zairyu<\/em> Cards immediately. Alien Registration Cards are regarded as <em>Zairyu<\/em> Cards until the next renewal.<\/p>\n<p>For further information, please\u00a0click the item below.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The new Basic Resident Registration\" href=\"http:\/\/www.soumu.go.jp\/main_sosiki\/jichi_gyousei\/c-gyousei\/pdf\/leaflet_eng.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Leaflet of the new Basic Resident Registration (English)\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Issue a residential code to foreign residents in Katano<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A residential code consisting of 11 pin numbers (<em>Jyuminhyo code<\/em>)\u00a0\u00a0is issed to foreign residents in Katano,\u00a0as the <em>Jyumin Kihon Daicho Network<\/em> (the Basic Resident Registration Network) for foreigners launches from<strong> July 8th 2013<\/strong>. As mentioned above,\u00a0foreign residents in Japan\u00a0have been already listed on BRR since July 9th 2012. But, it was impossible for them to receive their residential certificates at non-resident cities\u00a0unlike Japanese, who\u00a0were\u00a0registered\u00a0at the BRRN. From July 8th 2013, the foreign residents are also included into the same network as Japanese and can offer the issuance of the residential certificates throughout the Japan.<\/p>\n<p>The residential code issued by Katano City Council\u00a0may be required\u00a0if you\u00a0make any registrations and applications at public authorities.<\/p>\n<p>You can obtain the <em>Jyuki<\/em> card containing your residential code. It can be used as an official ID.
